First-time Passport Application

You need to follow new passport application procedure if:

You are applying for a passport for the first time or
Your previous passport has expired and was issued more than 15 years ago or
Your previous passport is not in your possession and would not be valid anyway or
Your previous passport is expired and was issued when you were under 16.
You are now 16 years of age or older.

Passport Renewal

Passports can only be renewed if following conditions are all met:

You can submit your most recent passport.
You were at least 16 years old when your most recent passport was issued.
Your most recent passport was issued within the past 15 years.
Your most recent passport was issued in your current name. (OR, You had your name
changed by marriage or court order and can submit proper documentation to reflect your name changes.)
Your passport is undamaged.

Re-apply Passport due to Lost or Stolen


This process is for replacing a lost or stolen passport when the missing passport is still valid or was issued within 15 years.

  • Add Visa Pages to Passport (24 visa pages)
    • Select this process when your current, valid passport is running out of pages AND
    will not expire for more than 1 year. 24 blank visa pages will be added to your
    passport. If your passport will expire within a year, you should just get a new
    passport; see Passport Renewal procedure above.

  • Child Passport.
    • For applicants age 15 years & under.
